The True

How I long to be gifted with the power to freeze time;
If I had one wish it would be spent
To live in this eternal moment.
An inescapable change is coming for all of us;
We are to drift apart like plates under the sea's surface
As our chosen paths differentiate.
If I had the ability to freeze the plate tectonics,
Would it prevent the earthquakes from changing who we are?
This inevitable change is to become us,
Yet I refuse to obey the laws of physics.
If I could freeze these precious moments we have,
To make them immortal,
It would mean everything.
Each and every one of you know me for me,
And accept that;
You do not require me to be anything more or less.
It is impossible to express through this medium
How valuable you all are,
And though it is indeed impossible to have our precious time together repeated,
I will never let you go.
